President Hakainde Hichilema is scheduled to attend the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, scheduled for 15th to 16th February 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Assembly, which is the African Union’s highest decision-making body, will convene under the theme: Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mulambo Haimbe, said the Summit is preceded by the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council (Session of Ministers) of the African Union, held from 12th to 13th February 2025.
Mr. Haimbe said while in Ethiopia, President Hichilema will participate in key meetings, including the APRM Summit and the High-Level Meeting on Sustainable Financing in Africa.
“Additionally, the President will hold strategic bilateral meetings on matters of mutual interest to advance Zambia’s national and economic priorities,” said Mr. Haimbe in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He said The President’s engagements at the Summit are aligned with Zambia’s economic transformation agenda and efforts to strengthen regional and global cooperation.
Mr. Haimbe said the President is expected to return to Zambia immediately after concluding his engagements.
