PONTOON HANDOVER BRINGS SMILES IN MILENGE DISTRICT

Milenge Town Council Chairperson, Clement Mwila has expressed gratitude with the handing over of the pontoon to the local authority and the people of Milenge District.

Mr. Mwila has emphasized that the introduction of the pontoon at Kapalala will bring numerous benefits to the district, including improved connectivity to Ndola, job creation, and overall development in Milenge District.

He says that the pontoon will help local entrepreneurs and small business owners with trade as it will improve transportation link and allow them to expand their operations, reach new customers and contribute to the economic vitality of Milenge District.

“The increased flow of goods and people are expected to attract further investments, paving the way for sustained economic development in Milenge District,” said Mr. Mwila.

Mr. Mwila further highlighted that the pontoon will be instrumental in increasing revenue generation for the local authority.

He further revealed that plans are already underway to procure a new pontoon to enhance service delivery for the residents of Milenge District.

Meanwhile, Kapalala Ward Councillor, Loveness Bwalya, noted that Kapalala Ward would benefit from this development, particularly the youths, who will find employment opportunities as trade activities in the ward will flourish.
