The Zambia Police Service has refuted allegations that it has suspended 6 police officers from Kulima Tower Police Post.
Yesterday, some online publications reported that 6 police officers were suspended after they blocked former President Edgar Lungu, during his visit in Lusaka’s Central Business District CBD.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says contrary to the allegations, no police officers have been suspended as alleged, saying that no such incident occurred.
“The public and media should always verify information before disseminating it to avoid causing unnecessary panic and confusion,” said Mr. Hamoonga in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He said that the police remains transparent and accountable in their operations, adding that any misconduct by police officers will be dealt in accordance with the law and internal disciplinary procedures.
