Chief Government Spokesperson, Cornelius Mweetwa, says security agencies have made headways in pursuit for Petauke Central Member of Parliament Emanual Jay Banda, who escaped from lawful custody on Sunday evening.
Mr. Mweetwa says Mr. Banda’s escape from Lawful custody was aided and that the law agencies are closing down on the sponsors.
Speaking at a Press Briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Mweetwa said Mr. Banda is hiding within the traceable vicinity.
Mr. Mweetwa assured that government will deploy all means available to ensure Mr. Banda is brought back to lawful custody.
He said Mr. Banda is not treated differently and that his cases is not a political issue but simply a criminal matter.
And Mr. Mweetwa said it is not true that the wife of Mr. Banda, who was present when he escaped has been arrested.
