PF NULLIFIED MPS TO APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION

Kamfinsa Member of Parliament, Christopher Kang’ombe, says  the National Assembly has no constitutional right to declare a parliamentary seat vacant.

Mr. Kang’ombe said this in Lusaka today,  when he featured on Christian Voice’s Chatback program on the topic, “Is Zambia going to have 9 parliamentary by elections”.

He said  all the 9  Patriotic Front (PF) Members of Parliament whose seats were declared vacant by the National Assembly  will take court action to challenge the decision.

“The declaration which came through a  ruling was also in breach of parliamentary proceedings because it was not on the order paper for that particular day,” said Mr. Kang’ombe.

Mr. Kang’ombe has however expressed confidence in the courts of law, saying that the nation will not have 9 parliamentary by-elections.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kang’ombe has expressed dismay with the continued interference of state organs in the internal affairs of the PF.

He said that it is evident state organs are deliberately delaying the court actions on the state of leadership withing the PF.
