“The prolonged hours of load shading being experienced in the country have badly affected people with disabilities, who depend on small informal businesses to make ends meet,” Zambia Federation of Disability Organizations (ZAFOD) has said.
ZAFOD Federal Director, Justine Bbakali, said in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today that most people with disabilities, who depend on minor economic activities like wielding and carpentry, are failing to make ends meet.
He however urged government to find lasting solutions to the national wide power deficit issue.
“Failure to do so, those on the margins like the people with disabilities may end up dropping into the ditch,” said Mr. Bbakali.
