PARENTS URGED TO TAKE CHILDREN FOR CANCER SCREENING

A Pediatric Oncologist in the Ministry of Health has called on parents and guardians to ensure their children go for regular screening for cancer.

Grace Chingo says with early detection, the chances of successful treatment and recovery are significantly increased.

“Children are often unable to communicate symptoms clearly, which is why screening and awareness are key to spotting warning signs,” said Dr. Chingo.

She has also said ahead of the World Cancer Day which falls on 4th February, the Ministry of Health is conducting some screening activities across the country including Kapiri Mposhi where the commemoration will take place.

Dr. Chingo has since urged the public to take advantage of the activities by going for screening to know their cancer status.
