Operation Young Vote (OYV) Executive Director, Guess Nyirenda, says the continued operation of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) without a board is affecting the fight against corruption in Zambia.
President Hakainde Hichilema is yet to announce a new (ACC) Board after it was dissolved in July, 2024.
Speaking when he featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program in Lusaka today, Mr. Nyirenda urged the President to quickly constitute a board that will oversee the fight against corruption in Zambia.
“OYV is surprised the president has taken long to constitute a new (ACC) board and this has a negative fight against corruption,” said Mr. Nyirenda.
And Mr. Nyirenda has called for transparency in the fight against corruption, saying that the (ACC) should be fearless when investigating individuals that hold public offices.
