Vice President, Mutale Nalumango, has called on opposition political parties to offer constructive opposition to the ruling party, as this is essential for maintaining their relevance in the country’s political landscape.
During a Vice President’s Question Time in the National Assembly today, Mr. Nalumango highlighted that the United Party for National Development (UPND) was an effective opposition before coming into power, and that similar performance should be expected from other opposition parties.
“Providing good opposition is up-to the opposition,” said Mrs. Nalumango.
The Vice President was responding to a question from Mukaika Member of Parliament, Peter Phiri, who had inquired whether government intended to establish a one-party state.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Nalumango has called on the public not to engage in corruption activities stating that all those found wanting will be dealt with by law.
