The Online Taxi Drivers Association is optimistic that the introduced GPS trackers and Dash Cameras for drivers will enhance security, following murder cases that have been recorded in the taxi industry.
In an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Association President, Lucas Chanda, said the dash cams will help in upscaling security for the drivers and their clients.
Mr. Chanda said the installation of the GPS and dash cams in some vehicles have already commenced.
“This initiative is applicable to all drivers to ensure their safety,” said Mr. Chanda.
And Mr. Chanda said the installation of GPS and Dash Cams in taxis is mandatory, further warning that those who fail to comply will eventually be removed from the system.
