Lusaka District Commissioner Rosa Zulu says government will ensure that safety measures towards online drivers is implemented.
Mrs. Zulu was speaking today at a meeting for online taxi drivers, where she committed governments resolve to provide security for online drivers.
“It is important for online drivers to be protected as they play an important role in the transport sector,” said Mrs Zulu.
And Online Taxi Drivers Association of Zambia President, Lucas Chanda, has appealed to the government to harness the challenges that online taxi drivers are facing and also provide alternative solutions to their security concerns.
Meanwhile, Copperbelt Chairman of the Online Taxi Drivers Association of Zambia Moses Mwaanga said that government should ensure prices for online drivers are cost reflective to suit the demands of the drivers.
