The Zambia Police Service says it will enhance collaboration with the Non-Governmental Gender Organizations ’Coordinating Council (NGOCC), to ensure victims of Gender Based Violence receive the support and protection they need.

Last week, The Police and NGOCC had conferred to discuss strengthening collaboration and enhancing efforts to create a safe environment for all citizens, emphasizing the need for a multi-sectoral approach to tackling crimes, including gender-related offences, underscoring the importance of partnerships in addressing these challenges.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Zambia Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, has described NGOCC is a strategic partner on addressing gender-related offences in Zambia.

“The police will continue to confer with NGOCC and other stakeholders to ensure efforts on GBV are enhanced,” said Mr. Hamoonga

He further added that the authority has recognized the critical role that NGOCC plays in advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment which he says should supported by various stakeholders.
