A Non-Governmental Organization, Families are Nations has called on law enforcement agencies to fast track the case of a nine-year old cancer patient who was allegedly raped by her father who was nursing her at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
Organization Executive Director Judith Mwila says the case should be handled with the urgency it deserves, saying the father to the child must be taken to prison immediately so that other perpetrators can learn from it.
Speaking to RCV News Ms. Mwila expressed sadness and shock that fathers that must be protecting their children from harm happens to be the main perpetrators of rape.
“Fathers must value their children more than their sexual feelings; it is surprising to see a father go back to his own offspring”, said Ms. Mwila.
She states that this case shows how moral decay is increasing in society, which should be addressed immediately if the lives of young girls are protected.
