NAQEZ COMMENDS PHASED IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW EDUCATION CURRICULUM

The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has welcomed government’s decision to implement the new education curriculum in a phased approach.

Last week, during the announcement of the Grade 7 and 9 Examination results, Minister of Education, Douglas  Syakalima, said that government will implement the new curriculum in a  phased approach, to allow for teachers to be equipped with the new learning materials.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, NAQEZ Executive Director, Aaron Chansa, said that a phased approach will ensure the new curriculum is gradually adopted by learners.

“The new curriculum needs trail and time to be implemented, and this exercise should not be rushed,” said Dr. Chansa.

He has further expressed optimism with the new curriculum which he says is practical and will be beneficial to learners.
