Minister of Commerce , Trade and industry Chipoka Mulenga has assured the Nation that Mulungushi Textiles will resume by the end of this year.
Mr. Mulenga said that says the development of the facilities will be undertaken in Printing fabrics and garments at an estimated investment of $20 million, a 20MW Solar Plant at an estimated investment cost of $ 20 million that will generate power for Mulungushi Textiles while the excess will be fed into the national grid.
Speaking through a minitrial statemenet in the National Assembly yesterday, Mr. Mulenga said that the investment will also see the construction of Solar Panel Assembly Plant at an investment cost of $50 million and a Spinning facility at an investment cost of $80million.
“Mulungushi textiles is expected to create about 500 jobs,” said Mr. Mulenga.
