The Medical for Quality Healthcare in Zambia (MQHZ) has expressed optimism with the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Zambia State Insurance Corporation (ZSIC) Life Insurance and the Zambia Medical Association (ZMA).
The partnership, finalized last week, marks a significant milestone in the healthcare sector, aiming to provide medical insurance for healthcare workers while addressing the health challenges they face.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka , MQHZ Director General, Quince Mwabu, hailed the initiative, stating that it will enhance the well-being and resilience of healthcare providers while ultimately improving the quality of care they deliver.
“This initiative will lead to better health outcomes for patients by ensuring that healthcare workers receive the necessary medical coverage,” said Dr. Mwabu.
He further emphasized the need to ensure the long-term sustainability of the program and its accessibility to all healthcare providers, regardless of their location or employment status.
