The Mpika Town Council has successfully disbursed over K2,878,800 to more than 4,798 beneficiaries under the cash-for-work program since February 1.
Assistant Accountant, Abigail Bwalya, confirmed that all January beneficiaries have received their payments and urged Ward Development Committees to submit additional names to expand the program’s reach.
“Beneficiaries are encouraged to provide accurate contact details and mobile money account information that match their registered names to ensure smooth and timely payments,” Ms. Bwalya said in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka by Public Relations Officer Mushota Mpundu.
However, she noted that some wards have experienced delays in accessing funds due to errors in the information provided during recruitment.
Ms. Bwalya reassured stakeholders of the council’s commitment to expediting fund disbursements, enabling beneficiaries to support their households effectively.
