The Mongu Municipal Council (MMC) says it is scheduled to start naming major roads and streets in Mongu town in a bid to reduce the challenges of locating physical addresses of houses as well as infrastructure.
Council Assistant Public Relations Manager, Abigail Sitenge, says the Council will embark on the first phase of placing the street names on major and selected roads.
“Simultaneously, the council shall also carry out the exercise of identifying roads that do not have names and later on propose the names for adoption,” says Ms. Sitenge in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
She said stakeholder consultative meetings will be held to propose names for identified roads and streets.
Ms. Sitenge further said the exercise aims to enhance identification and location of places in Mongu.
