Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) President, David Masupa, has cautioned men against abusing vasectomy as a means of avoiding their parental responsibilities.
Bishop Masupa was reacting to a recent report indicating that 500 men had undergone vasectomy in 2024, citing health reasons and the rising cost of living.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Bishop Masupa acknowledged that while vasectomy is a medically recommended family planning method, it should not be used as an excuse by men to shirk their duties as fathers and providers.
He emphasized the importance of responsible parenting, urging men to continue playing an active role in the upbringing and welfare of their children regardless of their family planning choices.
