The Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) President, Andrew Chintala, says going forward, all bags of Mealie Meal will be subjected to Aflatoxin tests before hitting the market.
Mr. Chintala said this when he featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program on the topic, “Safety of Mealie Meal on the market”.
He said pre-testing for Aflatoxins will be done to ensure the Mealie Meal offloaded on the market meets the required standards.
“MAZ has however assured the public that the Mealie Meal being traded on the market is safe for consumption”, said Mr. Chintala.
He has also warned milling companies of stern action if they skip the mandatory Aflatoxin tests during the supply chain.
