LUSAKA MAN TAKES OWN LIFE AFTER KILLING WIFE

A man of Meanwood Ndeke Phase One in Lusaka, identified Mike Ilishebo, aged 44, has taken his life after killing his wife following a marital dispute.

According to a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today by Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, Chelston Police Station, through Ndeke-vorna Police Post, received a distressing report from Alice Mapulanga, aged 38, that Mr. Ilishebo had allegedly perpetrated a heinous act against his wife, Valarie Franco, aged 35.

“It is alleged that Mr. Ilishebo strangled Ms. Franco using an electric power adapter cable, and subsequently stabbed her in the stomach with a knife, before taking a poisonous substance, resulting in his own death”, said Mr. Hoomonga.

He said Police arrived at the Scenes of Crime and found Ms. Franco’s lifeless body lying in the bedroom adjacent to the bed, with a knife embedded in her abdomen while Mr. Ilishebo was found deceased in the sitting room, with evidence of black poisonous substance emanating from his mouth.

Mr. Hamoonga said the motive behind the incident appears to stem from longstanding marital disputes between the couple.

“This tragic event transpired between 15: 00 and 16:00 hours yesterday, within an unmarked residence in Meanwood Ndeke Phase One,” said Mr. Hamoonga.
