Luena Member of Parliament, Mubita Anakoka, has criticized Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) for advocating the reduction of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations.
Mr. Anakoka described TIZ’s call as unfair, noting that the enhanced CDF has significantly transformed many communities.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Mr. Anakoka said reducing CDF allocations based on absorption rates is not a progressive approach.
“The failure by some constituencies to fully utilize their CDF allocations could be due to technical challenges that need to be addressed, rather than a lack of resources,” Mr. Anakoka explained.
He urged TIZ to focus on promoting the prudent utilization of CDF funds, instead of calling for their reduction.
