Kanchibiya Member of Parliament, Sunday Chanda, has urged Zambians to wait for the official constitutional amendment proposals from government before forming opinions.
Mr. Chanda emphasized that once the amendments are tabled, they should undergo thorough scrutiny, with each provision carefully examined to ensure alignment with democracy, good governance, and the rule of law.
“Speculating about constitutional amendments before they are officially presented risks derailing meaningful engagement,” said Mr. Chanda in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He further stressed that constitutional amendments is a serious exercise requiring objectivity, clarity, and precision.
“A responsible approach demands that Zambians engage with actual proposals, not imagined threats,” said Mr. Chanda.
He encouraged citizens to withhold judgment until the proposed amendments are presented, urging them to assess the changes based on their merits rather than assumptions.
