LCC WARNS BUS CONDUCTORS AGAINST ILLEGAL PRACTICES

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has warned bus conductors and call agents  who are in a habit of escorting and soliciting travellers to buy tickets from their preferred bus companies to desist from doing so, as  such puts the traveller’s lives in jeopardy.

The Local Authority has observed that some travellers have ended up being involved in road traffic accidents in the process of being coerced by bus conductors or call agents to buy tickets from their buses.

LCC Public Relations Manager, Chola Mwamba, says the council prioritizes safety of the travelers and discourages any illegal activities that interfere with public health and safety.

“Therefore, bus proprietors, drivers, conductors  and call agents must know that traveller’s wellbeing must be protected to maintain safety for everyone in bus stations,” said Ms. Mwamba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

She said that the council will not relent to bring to book anyone who interferes with traveler’s rights.
