Lusaka City Council and Rostov-On-Don of the Federation of Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at implementing joint projects in fields such as economy, industry and investments.
Speaking during the signing ceremony in Lusaka today, Lusaka Mayor, Chilando Chitangala said the MOU will improve the standards of living of the people from the two cities.
Mrs. Chitangala said the agreement will bring forth mutual exchange of delegations of cities and business entities in order to promote trade, economic and scientific links.
She said she is confident that the partnership will yield tangible outcomes through cooperation programmes.
” This partnership will create new opportunities for economic growth among others to enhance infrastructure development ,” said Mrs. chitangala.
And Head of Delegation of the Rostov- on – Don Iurii Ovchinnikov, said the MoU will produce developmental projects which will attract investments in the two nations.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Zambia Azim Yarakhmedov said that the friendship that Zambia and Russia share has been there since time immemorial and hopes that the MOU will strengthen their bilateral relations more.
