LCC FENCE CITY CEMETERIES BY 2025

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) is contemplating the installation of perimeter fencing around all Council-run cemeteries within the city.

The cemeteries identified for this initiative include Chingwere, Chunga, and Chilenje Cemeteries.

LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager, Nyambe Bulumba, says the Council plans to complete the unfinished wall fence at Old Leopards Hill Cemetery in 2025.

“This undertaking by the Council aims to enhance the security of these sites and impart aesthetic appeal to the surroundings,” said Mr. Bulumba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

He said the Local Authority will deliberate on the matter and allocate the necessary funds in the 2025 Council budget.

“The City Council will continue to maintain the dignity and respect of these sacred spaces, while also ensuring the overall beautification of our city,” said Mr. Bulumba.
