LCC COMPLETES MARKET SHELTER WITH 2022 CDF FUNDS

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has completed the construction of a market shelter at Mwamba Luchembe Market in Lima Ward 30, Matero Constituency, using the 2022 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The facility built at a total cost of K1,036,043, is expected to provide over 1000 traders with a conducive trading environment, complete with running water, toilet facilities, and shelter.

LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager, Nyambe Bulumba, says the Council remains committed to implementing government programs, including providing decent trading spaces for marketeers.

“The Council is thrilled to bring about and witness community change and development through infrastructure development that benefits the people, demonstrating our dedication to decency and conduciveness for our marketeers”, said Mr. Bulumba.

Mr. Bulumba has urged the marketeers to guard the newly constructed market shelter jealously and ensure its proper utilization and maintenance.

He has further encouraged the community to continue prioritizing needy developmental projects that require urgent attention through the utilization of CDF.
