The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has apprehended 4 vendors and has confiscated goods from various vendors, who were trading in undesignated areas.
This follows the activated anti-vending operations in Lusaka’s Central Business District (CBD).
LCC Public Relations Manager, Chola Mwamba, said the council police conducted an operation resulting in the severe warning of vendors and the confiscating of both perishable and non-perishable goods.
“The confiscated items included bananas, fritters, sausages, groundnuts, wild fruits, coconuts, apples, eggs and freezits,” said Ms. Mwamba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
Ms. Mwamba encouraged vendors to operate within designated trading areas to avoid disruptions.
