KAWAMBWA YOUTHS URGED TO HARNESS CDF SKILLS BURSARIES

Luapula Province Minister, Nason Musonda, has urged youths in Kawambwa district to fully utilize the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) skills bursaries and pursue technical and vocational training that can transform their lives and contribute to national development.

The Minister made the call during a certificate handover ceremony for graduates of Copperbelt Professional College held in Kawambwa, that were fully sponsored under the CDF initiative after successfully completing a variety of life changing courses.

Mr. Musonda stressed the importance of acquiring practical skills in today’s evolving economy as industries had become more technology driven, adding that youths with skills had a greater chance of finding employment and launching businesses.

“The public is reminded that CDF bursaries were designed to promote inclusive development through ensuring that youths from rural and underprivileged communities access education and skills training”, said Mr. Musonda in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

He stated that education plays a vital role in addressing youth unemployment and in building a self reliant and productive nation, further urging youths in Kawambwa to seize the opportunity and equip themselves with relevant life changing skills.

He disclosed that government was creating a skilled, competitive workforce capable of meeting both national and global demands, further adding that graduates from learning institutions were not only being positioned to find employment but also equipped to become entrepreneurs and job creators in their communities.

At the same function, the Minister disclosed that Kawambwa Town Council was in a process of opening the first ever agricultural skills training center in Luena ward, aimed at equipping youths with advanced agricultural courses.
