Kawambwa District has received a major economic boost with the disbursement of over 5 million kwacha in Constituency Development Fund (CDF) grants to support local empowerment initiatives.
A total of 371 community groups in Kawambwa Central and Pambashe constituencies are set to benefit from the funds, which aim to promote youth and women empowerment, small-scale businesses, and agriculture-driven projects.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Luapula Province Minister, Nason Musonda, said the initiative highlights government’s commitment to decentralization and inclusive development describing CDF as a vital tool for empowering marginalized communities and driving grassroots transformation.
“This is more than just project funding It is about restoring dignity and creating real opportunities for the people,” said Mr. Musonda.
He urged beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly and called on civic leaders and technocrats to provide continuous support and oversight to ensure project sustainability.
