K17.6 MILLION IN CDF PROJECTS APPROVED IN MATERO CONSTITUENCY

Government has approved the disbursement of K17,621,957.95 for the implementation of community projects under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Matero Constituency.

The approval will facilitate the execution of 13 community projects in 2025, covering all five wards in the constituency.

In a statement to RCV News in Lusaka today, Lusaka City Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Nyambe Bulumba said three projects have been approved in Muchinga Ward 28, including the expansion of the Matero Recreation Centre at a total cost of K1,500,000, the construction of the Matero Girls Secondary School bridge at K823,734.80 and the purchase and installation of a refrigerator and shelves for the Matero Hospital mortuary at K1,200,000.

In Lima Ward 30, three projects have been approved, including the construction of a railside near Katambalala market at K1,700,000, the supply and installation of streetlights along Katambalala market road at K404,754.15 and the drilling and installation of a joint water reticulation system at K260,000.

“Matero Ward 32 will benefit from the construction of a 1×3 classroom block at Kasamba Secondary School at a total cost of K2,390,000,” said Mr. Bulumba.

He said in Mwembeshi Ward, several projects have been approved, including the purchase of land for the construction of Mwembeshi Secondary School at K4,633,250, the construction of Chunga market at K230,219, the construction of the Chunga Clinic wall fence at K1,250,000 and the completion of the Mwembeshi main police post at K870,000.

Mr. Bulumba also highlighted that Kapwepwe Ward 29 will benefit from the construction of the Skills Development Centre at a total cost of K2,000,000 and the supply and installation of streetlights at K360,000.

He said the projects aim to improve the lives of Matero Constituency residents, promoting community development and growth.
