K1.2M SET ASIDE FOR SOLAR ENERGY AT NEW GWEMBE HOSPITAL

The Ministry of Health has released K1. 2 million for the connection of solar energy at the New Gwembe District Hospital in Southern Province.

Technology and Science Minister, Felix Mutati, says he has been briefed by his Health counterpart, Elijah Muchima, that the money has been released to ensure that the SmartCare program which the Ministry of Health is implementing at the hospital is successful.

Mr. Mutati said solar energy will ensure that the hospital is powered throughout the period when the country has an energy deficit.

Speaking when he launched the Digital Health Systems Project at the New Gwembe District Hospital, Mr. Mutati said President Hakainde Hichilema is serious when it comes to health delivery.

“The Head of State has tasked Ministries to ensure that people in outlying areas are not denied their right to government services,” Mr. Mutati said.

And Minister of Health, Elijah Muchima, said Ministers are delivering because they want to fulfil the mandate President Hichilema has given them.
