Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Jack Mwiimbu, has announced that the Mobile issuance of National Registration Cards (NRCs) will commence within the first 2 weeks of April, 2025.
Mr. Mwiimbu says the process will run for 3 months across the country, and will cost government K440 million.
Speaking in the National Assembly today when he delivered a ministerial statement on the commencement of the process, Mr. Mwiimbu assured Zambians that the process will be free and transparent.
“This process will touch all corners of the country, and all Zambians that have attained the age 16 must take keen interest and collect their NRCs,” said Mr. Mwiimbu.
He said that the process will be physical, saying that government will only consider rolling out the digital issuance of NRCs after the 2026 general elections.
