The Annual rate of inflation for February 2025 has increased to 16.8% from 16.7% recorded in January, 2025.
Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats), Acting Statistician General, Sheila Mudenda, says the increase means the on average, prices of goods and services increased by 16.8% between February 2024 and February 2025, saying that this development was mainly attributed to price movements in food items.
Ms. Mudenda said that the annual non-food inflation for February 2025 was recorded at 11.7%, compared to 13.2% in January 2024.
“This outturn was mainly attributed to price movements in prices of non-food items such as household appliances and Passenger transport by air,” said Ms. Mudenda.
