The Department of Immigration has announced that Immigration Headquarters will now be open on the first Saturday of every month to facilitate the collection of Immigration Permit Cards, effective Saturday, 7th February 2026.
Immigration Chief Public Relations Officer, Namati Nshinka, says the initiative is aimed at addressing challenges faced by clients, particularly employees and students, who are unable to collect approved Employment and Study Permits during normal working days due to tight work and school schedules.
Mr. Nshinka explained that the Saturday opening will strictly be for permit card collection at Immigration Headquarters and will operate from 08:00 hours to 13:00 hours on the designated Saturdays.
He noted that the move reflects the Department’s commitment to improving service delivery by making immigration services more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of clients.
Mr. Nshinka has encouraged clients to take advantage of the arrangement and plan their permit card collection accordingly.
The announcement was made in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
