ILO DIRECTOR TO VISIT ZAMBIA FOR A TWO-DAY ENGAGEMENT

International Labour Organization (ILO) Assistant Director General and Regional Director for Africa, Fanfan Rwanyindo Kayirangwa, is scheduled to arrive in Zambia on Sunday, July 14th, for an official two-day visit.

During her visit, Ms. Kayirangwa will hold high-level meetings with the tripartite partners among them the Zambia Federation of Employers and the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions.

Director for the ILO Country Office in Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique, Wellington Chibebe, told RCV News in a statement today that the visit will help strengthen United Nations partnerships with stakeholders in the labour sector.

“We are happy that the Regional Director will be in Zambia to witness ILO and wider UN support in the areas of decent work and the promotion of social dialogue, and other respects”, said Mr. Chibebe.

He said Ms. Kayirangwa is also expected to meet senior government officials, including the Minister of Labour and Social Security Ms. Brenda Tambatamba.
