IBA APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL

The Independent Broadcasting Authority IBA, has appointed Guntila Muleya,  as its new Director General with effect from May 6, 2024.

Mr. Muleya, a former General Manager at Multichoice Zambia, takes over from  Josephine Mapoma who served in that capacity from the inception of the Authority in 2013 until 2023.

IBA Board Chairperson Chikosola Chuula said Mr. Muleya’s performance milestones resonates well with  IBA’s strategy to digitalize its licensing and monitoring procedures, in line with government’s upward momentum in digital transformation.

“Mr. Muleya is passionate about technology and has automated a number of business processes to create more operational efficiency and convenience for end users”, said Mr. Chuula in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

He said that Mr. Muleya joins the authority in the early stages of the implementation of its new strategic plan, which emphasizes on the creation of a more enabling regulatory environment through digitalization and enhanced stakeholder management.
