President Hakainde Hichilema says his administration has focused on promoting gender inclusivity across various sectors, including education, security, and governance, as a key driver of sustainable development.
The President said this today, in Kamfinsa- Kitwe, in a speech read on his behalf by Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Jack Mwiimbu , during the Pass-Out Parade for 1,528 Police Recruit Constables, of which 1,030 are female and 498 are male.
“The new dawn government has taken significant steps to increase the representation of women in leadership roles and decision-making positions,” said President Hichilema.
President Hichilema said the societal barriers that hinder women’s progress, including discrimination and unequal access to resources, must be broken down.
He said empowering women and ensuring their active participation in national development is essential for achieving the nation’s goals.
The president urged the officers to continue operating within the confines of the law, respecting human rights, and ensuring justice is upheld in all their actions.
He said respecting the rule of law is the cornerstone of the professional service his administration aspires to build.
