GREEN PARTY CALLS FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN ZAMBIA AND ZIMBABWE

Opposition Green Party President, Peter Sinkamba, says the President’s decision Not to travel  for the 44th Southern African Development Community  (SADC) summit for heads of state and government in Zimbabwe, is proof that the diplomatic relations between Zambia and Zimbabwe is fragile.

Mr. Sinkamba says President, Hakainde Hichilema should have attended the SADC summit in person  considering the drought and food insecurity in the region.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Sinkamba has therefore urged President Hichilema to engage his Zimbabwean counterpart and iron out any outstanding difference for the benefit of the region.

“It is clear that President Hichilema and his Zimbabwean counter may have differences which should be addressed earliest” said Mr. Sinkamba.

He has also urged the President to prioritise dialogue with regional leaders for the betterment of the South African community.
