GOV’T URGES JOURNALISTS TO FOCUS ON TRANSFORMATIVE STORIES

Government has urged Journalists to focus on writing and documenting life changing stories where real challenges and transformation lies.

Speaking during the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) Inaugural Media Impact Awards in Lusaka last evening, Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana reiterated Government’s commitment to creating an environment where media practitioners can thrive, without being intimidated and freedoms protected.

Mr. Kawana has commended CEEC for its role in promoting Journalism excellence and societal change by recognition of impactful and life change stories covered by journalists.

And CEEC Board Chairperson Jason Kazilimani said the CEEC media impact awards’ vision was to recognize and celebrate journalists who go beyond mere reporting and become true storytellers of economic transformation.

“We are not just awarding journalists; we are nurturing an ecosystem of storytellers who can illuminate the path of economic transformation for our beloved Zambia,” said Mr. Kazilimani.
