Energy expert, Boniface Zulu has urged government to take the current dry spells in some parts of the country serious as the situation may worsen into 2025 if immediate and strategic actions are not taken.
Mr. Zulu says as the country approaches 2025, expanding renewable energy capacity remains a top priority which includes accelerating the development of solar panels, wind and other renewable projects to meet growing energy demand.
“Implementing energy efficiency measures across various sectors can significantly reduce energy consumptions and costs including promoting energy efficient technologies,” said Mr. Zulu in a statement issued to RCV News.
Mr. Zulu further said that the dry season and energy crises that have been experienced are a wake-up call for Zambia and by taking proactive and strategic actions, stating that this challenge can turn into an opportunity to build a more sustainable and resilient energy sector to ensure that Zambia’s energy future is secured.
