Mandevu-based youth entrepreneur Simon Mulafula has called on government to simplify the procedures for accessing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), arguing that the current complex processes are excluding vulnerable youths in underserved communities.
Speaking to RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Mulafula noted that many young people struggle to meet the bureaucratic requirements attached to the fund, which limits their ability to start income-generating projects and escape poverty.
He emphasized that streamlining access to the CDF is essential to fostering inclusive and sustainable youth development that truly leaves no one behind.
Mr. Mulafula also appealed to ward councillors to be more visible and accessible in their communities, and to ensure fair and equitable distribution of CDF resources without favouring only well-connected or more educated youths.
“A lot of young people who may have lost direction are ready to change and become responsible citizens if the right opportunities are made available,” said Mr. Mulafula.
