GOVT URGED TO PROVIDE A ROADMAP FOR FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

Governance Expert Wesley Miyanda has expressed concern over the reluctance by the government to provide a road map of the funeral arrangements for the late Former President Edgar Lungu who died yesterday, Thursday 5th June 2025 at Mediclinic Medforum in Pretoria south Africa.

Mr. Miyanda states that, Mr. Lungu being a state property, government should by now have announced the funeral arrangements.

In a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Miyanda  has expressed disappointed over the  Patriotic Front’s declaration  to have the Party’s Secretariat as the funeral house especially that it is near the roadside.

“The death of Mr. Lungu has overexcited the PF leadership that they even went ahead to declare their Party Secretariat which is just by the road side as the mourning place and declare seven days as “Party” mourning,” said Mr. Miyanda.

He has since urged political parties not to politicize the funeral of former Head of State but rather mourn in peace and unity.
