The Small-Scale Farmers Development Agency (SAFADA) has called on President, Hakainde Hichilema, and his government to withdraw plans to amend the Zambian Constitution, arguing that economic recovery should take precedence over legal reforms.
SAFADA Executive Director, Boyd Moobwe, described the proposed constitutional amendments as misplaced, stating that government should focus on reviving the economy and addressing urgent challenges affecting ordinary Zambians.
“The priority right now should be fixing the economy and amending the constitution is not what Zambians need at this moment,” said Mr. Moobwe.
He further emphasized that pressing issues such as the high cost of living require immediate government intervention, urging leaders to direct their efforts towards economic stabilization, job creation, and poverty reduction instead of constitutional reforms.
