Citizens First President, Harry Kalaba, has called on government to address current corruption issues with the same determination it has shown in investigating past offenses.
Citing recent findings from the 2023 Auditor General’s report and the Financial Intelligence Centre, Mr. Kalaba noted that corruption appears to be ongoing within various sectors of the current administration.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Mr. Kalaba acknowledged government’s commendable work in tackling historical corruption cases, but emphasized the need to apply similar efforts to address present concerns.
“The mining sector is another area that deserves focused attention from investigative wings to root out corruption,” said Mr. Kalaba.
Mr. Kalaba warned that failing to address ongoing corruption could have serious consequences for the nation’s development and public trust.
