GOVT TO PROVIDE TAX INCENTIVES IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR

Acting Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Felix Mutati, says government is ready to provide tax incentives to companies that want to specifically invest in rural areas of the country.

Mr. Mutati said that this will trigger economic activities in under developed areas across the country.

He said this in the National Assembly today, during the Questions for oral answer session.

Mr. Mutati also revealed that 51 foreign Manufacturing companies invested in the country as of September 2023.

“The companies are operating in Northern, Copperbelt, North Western, Lusaka, Muchinga, Central , Luapula , southern and central provinces.

Mr. Mutati said that the 51 companies are engaged in  Agro processing, soya products, packaging materials, sugar processing, vegetable oils and diapers among others.
