GOVT TO INVEST IN MORDERN METEOROLOGICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Mike Mposha, says government will continue to invest in modern infrastructure and training to ensure airports are equipped with the best possible meteorological services.

During a visit at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport to appreciate the Meteorological services available, Mr. Mposha said meteorological services are essential for providing accurate weather information, which is crucial for the safety of flights and the operational efficiency of airports.

He said that government has installed state-of-the-art meteorological infrastructure at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport.

“This includes the upgrade of observation infrastructure with the installation of automatic weather observation stations and the replacement of mercury-based instruments with digital instruments,” said Mr. Mposha in a statemenet issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

He said in addition, government has completed the installation of 121 automatic weather stations across the country.
