GOV’T LAUNCHES 2025 AFRICA PUBLIC SERVICE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Government has officially launched the 2025 Africa Public Service Day exhibitions and celebrations, which will run from today, 26th June, until Sunday, 29th June 2025.

This year’s celebrations will be commemorated under the theme, “Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps.”

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka today, Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa, announced that throughout the celebrations, the public will have access to a range of on-the-spot government services, including health, education, pension, and both national and voter registration services among others.

“To promote a culture of continuous improvements in the public services, members of the public are expected to provide feedback on services provided by government institutions,” said Mr. Kangwa.

Mr. Kangwa  also noted that public discussions and programs related to the event will be broadcast on various television and radio stations across the country.

He called on citizens to participate in large numbers, with Lusaka hosting the national event at East Park Mall while celebrations in other provinces will take place at designated local venues.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kangwa said as part of the activities, interdenominational church services will be held on Friday, 27th June 2025, at both the national and provincial levels, stating that in Lusaka, the service will take place at the Anglican Cathedral.

“It is important to thank God for the public service and to dedicate public workers to Him,” said Mr. Kangwa.
