Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Garry Nkombo, has maintained that all procedures were followed in the procurement of the 156 ambulances under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), contrary to media reports.
Mr. Nkombo says this is why no government investigative agency is probing the purchase.
He was speaking in the National Assembly yesterday, when he delivered a ministerial statement on the procurement of 156 ambulances under the CDF – 2024.
And Mr. Nkombo said so far, 11 ambulances have been delivered, 18 are under shipment while the remaining 106 will be delivered by end of May 2025.
Mr. Nkombo however acknowledged the failure by the contracted companies to deliver the ambulances within the agreed time, further saying the delay is regrettable.
