Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu has condemned the prevalence of theft crimes in Lusaka.
The Minister’s concern follows the videos that have gone viral on social media platforms of criminal activities on motor vehicles perpetrated by thieves on the Kafue roundabout.
Speaking when he delivered a ministerial statement in the National Assembly today, Mr. Mwiimbu said government through his Ministry have put in place measures to curb the illicit vice in the area and other areas prone to crime.
He said government’s top priority is the safety of the community and will not allow or tolerate any form of criminal activities.
“Our police officers will continue working closely with other law enforcement agencies to combat crime and ensure the communities remain safe,” said Mr. Mwiimbu.
Mr. Mwiimbu has since called on motorists and the public at large to report criminal activities and bring the perpetrators to justice to create a safe place for all.
